How it works
Methodology and coverage
We collect records from three listed feeds, normalize them for search, and link back to the source record.
Beta notice updated
Current coverage
The beta indexes EU Safety Gate records supplied through an OpenDataSoft dataset, French RappelConso records, and German BVL warnings when configured. It does not cover every authority, retailer, manufacturer notice, or historic recall in Europe.
Collection and updates
Automated jobs request records from each configured feed. Upstream availability, credentials, rate limits, schema changes, maintenance, and deployment failures can delay an update.
Normalization
Source fields are mapped into a shared title, description, country, category, risk level, publication date, and source link. Project mappings improve filtering; the linked source wording remains the reference. Records are deduplicated by source URL.
Barcode matching
A lookup compares an EAN or UPC against values extracted from indexed records. Many notices do not publish a barcode, and one barcode may cover only some variants. No match is not a safety assessment.
