Privacy notice
EU Recall Alert works without an account. We process only the device and delivery data needed to provide the features you choose.
Beta notice updated
Data controller
During the beta, the EU Recall Alert project maintainer operates the service. Privacy requests can be sent to privacy@eu-recall.app. The registered operator identity and postal address must be added before public app-store release and remain subject to legal review.
What we process
- Browsing and barcode checks do not require an account. A scanned barcode value is sent to the recall API; camera images are decoded on the device and are not uploaded by the app.
- If you enable alerts, the service stores a browser endpoint or Expo push token, delivery keys where required, device identifier, alert filters, a shortened user agent, and delivery status timestamps.
- Alert preferences and public recall data may be cached locally for offline use. Hosting and optional error-reporting systems may also process request and diagnostic data.
Purpose and retention
Subscription data is used to deliver the alerts you request and maintain service security. We do not sell personal data or use recall activity for targeted advertising.
Active push data is kept while the device remains subscribed. Using the disable or clear control requests deletion of that endpoint from the backend. Invalid endpoints may be disabled while the final beta retention schedule is completed.
Your controls
Use Manage data to clear this browser. Because there is no account, the action applies only to the current browser or device. You can also contact the privacy address for access, deletion, or correction requests.
Delivery providers
Push delivery may use browser push providers or Expo, which then communicates with Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging. Hosting and optional Sentry provider details, safeguards, and retention require final legal review before general release.
